Good Friday, Easter, and the Resurrection

♫At the cross I bow my knee
Where Your blood was shed for me,
There's no greater love than this.
You have overcome the grave
Your glory fills the highest place
What can separate me now?♫

Resurrection Sunday would not have existed if it weren't for Good Friday. On that day TOTAL darkness descended on the land from noon until 1500 (3pm) that synchronized with Passover. When Christ gave up his spirit, the thick Veil of the Temple- the entrance of the Holy of Holies, which was at least 4 inches thick, 60 feet long and 30 feet high- was torn in two, signifying the end of our barrier to God (Matthew 27:45-54; Mark 15:38; Luke 23:45, Thallus: a secular Greco-Roman historian).
For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit. (1 Peter 3:18)
